The red Mercurey 1er Cru Clos Marcilly, Hermine of Les Héritiers Saint Genys

This Mercurey comes from a terroir of clay-limestone slopes, 100% pinot noir, it presents smoky notes, larded then with aeration, a complex bouquet of burlat cherry, peony and iris. The attack in mouth is frank and soft, this wine has a subtle tannic framework with a chalky finish. It has just been awarded a score of 94/100 by James Suckling.
